A good source of travel entertainment. A small multi purpose ‘screen’, great for following tv on the move or just displaying your snapshots. However dvb-t signal propagation has its problems, so remember to re-scan frequencies when you travel around. Most user disappointments with small screen lcd televisions are down to not realizing that digital signals are really, really ‘local’ compared to analogue signals. Dvb-t was never intended to give wide geographical coverage. If you do not re-scan you will either get a ‘blue screen’ or another channel instead of your expected program. However controls are neat and intuitive, and you even get a tiny remote, although the 2. 5 hours battery life might inconvenience the hard case tv junkie on the move.
Bought this to use mainly as a mobile video monitor. Chose this one as it clearly stated it had a video in socket and the lead was supplied. Set it up for digital tv and very impressed with the aerial sensitivity. Even without the little aerial plugged in i could receive 20+ channels with very little drop out. With the aerial no drop out at all.
I am very impressed with the quality of the picture and the design. My only improvement would be if the volume level could go higher.
Portable entertainment centre. I love this little tv, it’s small enough to be kept in my glove box, the screen looks as good as any i’ve seen and i can use it to watch my movie downloads on my living room set.

Great little portable tv/radio. August dtv905 9″ high resolution freeview lcd tv & pvr recorder / media player / photo displayer – powered by mains or rechargeable batteries (internal)really impressed by the high resolution picture quality. Pin sharp with the factory-set colour, contrast and brightness spot on. Did the initial channel installation with the roof aerial. All the tv/radio channels that i get with my lounge tv came on,plus 3 extra. I then hesitantly switched to the tiny aerial provided and to my surprise found that the picture was still the same after slight positional adjustments – but then i live in a good reception area. The stereo sound is excellent too, from speakers at either end of this tab – it’s a joy watching films or listening to digital radio. Have not tried the usb function yet but i feel sure that’ll be quite a bonus. It’s not heavy at all and i like the fact that it has a rechargeable internal battery plus the mains,so it’s really portable. The handy remote works well but you have to be fairly close to it.
Ideal for long distance lorry drivers. Bought for my husband who is a truck driver, didn’t receive a signal in the house – but as expected worked perfectly out and about. The tiny aerial you get with it is actually magnetic and sticks onto the side of a wagon cab. I assumed with it having batteries these would be replaceable but i assumed wrong and it’s a rechargeable battery – not a problem as i have now further ordered the 12v/24v ‘car’ charger. My husband seems happy with it, and at 9inches it’s a reasonable price – not tried the recording feature or usb yet.
Good in allrespects but two. . I really bought this as a kitchen replacement and an additional dvr. It records fine, but where future timer prog recording in concerned it has to be left turned on. Unlike normal dtv recorders there is no standby setting whereby machine is ostensibly turned off on its own switch and awakes at appointed time to record, so you have to remember to turn it on before the appointed recording – which rather negates the idea of timer recordings. It is batter/mains, but no facility to cut out battery and run on mains only. Battery life about 3 hours with own special version, not aa replaceables, etc. I left on mains adapter for a good period, this gets very hot. Shame, as plays videos from mem stick and records to that very well. Checked this all with the firm and apparently they have another model which does have standby facility, but not much help when you’ve purchased this one.
