Hisense 50 inch Smart Ultra HD 4K LED TV : Excellent value for money, with good connectivity, but let down by limited apps

Far better sound and picture as samsung and lg tvs i have owned in the past. Well worth the money and the 4k is stunning. If your looking for a great tv and well worth the money, this is the best choice by far.

Excellent picture quality but uneven backlight. Pros:excellent colour reproduction. Sound is good enough as to not make a sound bar essential. Minimal input lag on hdmi 2. Light enough to be easily wall mounted. Very responsive menuscons:contrast could be better, but is alright when dynamically adjusting. Not a major issue on light scenes but can be noticeable on near black scenesthick light an old style ccfl panel, may make it awkward wall mounting in tighter spots.

Excellent value for money, with good connectivity, but let down by limited apps. Overall, this is an excellent tv for the money, with significantly improved picture compared to similar sized hd models. ** does not yet support amazon prime video **positives:* the picture is excellent, though the default colours were too harsh for my taste, and were improved by adjusting the saturation and contrast down slightly. You may also want to tweak the video settings to get the results on fast-moving action. * black level is also good, and the back-lighting is well controlled. * the level of detail from a 4k source is first rate. * up-scaling from 1080p hd is also good. * good connectivity, with 4 hdmi, 3 usb ports (one of which is usb 3. 0), and component inputs* built-in cec support, allowing the tv remote to control connected hdmi devices. (for example, i was able to control a raspberry pi2 running osmc)* wifi works well* works very well with netflix, which can be accessed via a dedicated button on the remote.

Technically brilliant but with potential quality issues. . Bought this on the daily lightening deal for £469. There was little out there in terms of info on this tv so was a bit of a punt. Have to say, the technical ability of this tv is excellent. Initially, the settings require diligent calibration, which once done, displays an ok picture for sd content, impressive picture for 1080p content, and super for interlaced content. My ps3 and the graphics of ‘the last of us’ was breathtaking. It also has a built in satellite tuner as well as dvb. Basically, processing and features is excellent value for money.

Amazing tv nothing better for the price point. Great quality, lovely bezel great features. A little slow loading, but really unnoticeable in all honesty. Just wish there was more 4k content:-(.

This is one if not the cheapest 4k tvs on the market. The price gives a huge hint what sort of tv you are getting. The picture image is very good quality which is what you would expect from a 4k tv. The main drawbacks are that the image quality comes is distorted by fast movement and media such as sports, games or movies get seriously affected. Another bonus is that the tv says it upscales the quality to 4k. I can believe this statement when the input is hd and it does look good however the sd quality is very poor on this tv. Great image qualitysome nice appsok soundeasy set up and easy to change settingscons. Bad with moving objectsbad lag for games and moviesawful for standard quality content.

Built in netflix is brilliant for the 4k programs on this stunning 4k tv. Bbc iplayer and amazon prime not ready for it yet. On hisense website there’s an update coming sept-oct.

Picture is really good for the price paid. Delivered within 3 days of ordering. Bought the 50 inch for £439. Picture is really good for the price paid. Spoke to hisense tech department as my nvidia shiled android tv would not play 4k netflix through any hdmi port – they say that even though the hdmi are 2. 2 which is needed for the shield – so they are going to send me a usb update stick with an upgrade on to allow the hdmi to accept hdcp 2. 2 – great back up and after sales service from hisense.

Netflix and amazon work great though. I don’t think 4k is all its. Just received amazon video update. Downside is that bbc iplayer has never worked properly. Netflix and amazon work great though. I don’t think 4k is all its cracked up to be – to notice the difference above 1080 you’ve got to be about five feet or less from the tv.
