Great tv, love the netflix button.
Bought this for my daughter for christmas so haven’t really used it myself, but did hang it on her bedroom wall and do all the original set-up. Set-up was easy and quick, connecting wirelessly to the internet hub, but did have to use the ‘enter hub key’ option as the auto option failed to connect. This was not a problem and is perhaps expected in certain circumstances which is why the second option is available. I’ve always bought panasonic and have never had any issues with them. My daughter loves it, picture is great and the smart apps are perfect for her. She uses the netflix option mainly via the dedicated button on the remote which is very handy.

Panasonic TX-49ES400B 49-Inch Widescreen 1080p Full HD Smart LED TV with Freeview HD (2017 Model) : This is what you call, plug and play. It must have taken me all of ten minutes to plug it in, connect to the internet, and sort out the viewing conditions that were required. What a piece of kit this is.
There is so much jargon and misinformation written about tvs that i thought i should write an article to help people make an informed choice when purchasing a tv. Here is what to look for and why. I will centre my article around picture quality. Debating the sound quality of inbuilt tv speakers which are about one inch thick is like discussing whether you would rather be punched by mike tyson or george foreman. Both are going to be unpleasant so what is the point?if you are interested in sound quality, connect your tv to your hifi system via the tv’s optical output. If your hifi does not accept digital inputs then purchase a fiio d03k dac from amazon for £22. You won’t get a better dac for less than £100. If you can’t connect your hifi to your tv, then purchase a sound bar from a decent hifi brand such as q acoustics or better still active speakers such as the q acoustics bt3’s or ruark mr1s. Also, i won’t waste time describing the smart features of a tv when you can buy an amazon fire stick with alexa voice control for £25 in the sales. It is comfortably the fastest, most intuitive, most comprehensive smart interface widely available and it comes with voice activation and alexa.
This is a nice tv set with a lot of extra features. The feet are strongly made of metal and have screw inserts a good job all round.
My son and husband also bought the same model in different sizes. Good picture and sound quality.
Excellent picture quality, very satisfied.
Smart-ready, needs a separate dongle, not supplied. I haven’t bothered with dongle.
The tv itself is great (including the finish). I just watched blue planet live in full hd – marvellous. Freeview play (catch up) and ‘already on-board’ apps (netflix, amazon etc. Getting through setup requires some effort. I have talktalk fibre with the tv 10 meters away from the router in another room (hg633 router). It’s a led tv rather than lcd. 0 ghz wi-fi for internet connection. At set up you can see on screen which frequency is strongest to the router and connect with that one. A few people have said the sound is a bit on the poor side. I found it to be what i expected.
Loads of apps preloaded including netflix and prime.
The sound could be a bit better though.
It took a while to get the picture settings to my liking but now that is sorted i am very happy with the tv.
Great christmas present for the bedroom. Does exactly what it says on the tin and looks great too.
We have an 11-year old 46” panasonic plasma as our main tv which has been utterly faultless so i bought this as a second tv for our kids. They needed something for amazon prime and catch-up tv as they watch a lot of pre-recorded tv. There are all the apps you need and they work quickly and easily from a wi-fi connection – our six-year old can use them with ease. The picture is panasonic quality (i. Excellent), great contrast, good blacks and highly adjustable. The sound is fine for a small-ish room, the room this is in is 10x10ft. For a larger room, i would go for a sound bar as the bass is lacks throw. It was bracket mounted which was very easy to fit (i used a vivomounts slim tilt) with good vesa placings and the back of the tv needed a 90′ power cable which was a tenner to prevent fouling with the wall because of the tilt. All the inputs are at the back and i used some 90′ hdmis which i didn’t need to use but helped with keeping the cables tidy in the trunking i used (deleycon). In all, for this kind of money, it’s a great lcd tv, it’s been used daily since january and we have no complaints.
Good size, good price, easy to use.
A good television easy to set up especially with broadband and so access to things like iplayer – you tube etc etc become easy – recommended.
I should have listened to the 20% of customers who posted one star reviews because they received a damaged or faulty unit. Mine too was faulty, with the backlight not working on one side. Save yourself a lot of bother and get a different model. Edit: it is now one year later and the replacement telly they sent me (same model, different batch) is fab and i’m very happy with it. Such a shame that we had to go through the faff of testing it, contacting the helpline and then getting it replaced first time around. Because when it works, it works very well. Picture and sound quality are excellent, and i like that i can reorder the apps to my own use. Yes the loading time for the interactive features is slow on start-up, but otherwise this is a fab tv and highly recommended for movie lovers like me.
Does all that is claimed for it. Some confusion with the installation instructions, as two different shaped feet are described.
