The box it came is not much bigger than the tv itself but still packaged very securely. There is some small assembly required, the stand is actually two fixed legs on either side of the tv. It has taken us some time to get used to, we’re used to a central stand that swivels. It does look neat and tidy though. The power cable is on the short side, only 1m, so if it’s being placed away from a socket an extension is required. Almost plug and play, just follow the on screen prompts. The remote does have a slight lag so when setting up remember to wait a little especially when trying to put your wifi password in, i did get a bit frustrated at first. The picture is great we haven’t experienced any ghosting etc.
Delivered quickly and very well packaged. Fantastic picture quality and sound.
I hadn’t heard of the tcl brand before, my main tv is a panasonic smart tv though some years old now. Neither was i familiar with the freeview play product so i was prepared for some surprises at least. I had the help of a young friend to set the tv up, we both remarkedo nt he small size of the delivery box; not much bigger than the actual tv. Unpoacking it showed that it was very neatly packed with polystrene and foam strategically protecting the tv. We did waste a few minutes looking for a stand but then realised that in fact it had small legs insteadit was honestly a complete doddle to set up; the legs fix firmly and give it stability. My heloer remarked on how light the tv is; i’m happy about this as safety wise its much less likely to cause any damage if it fallsover. Setting up to view just ran through on screen; everyting worked straight off and we were ready to start watching. It is slowish to come on when switched on and not the fastest response to the remote but nothing out of order. The basic idea of freeview play is that catchup is integrated in to the tv guide so you can pick programmes shown over the previous 7 days using the guide button. Ive found this surprisingly useful to extend my viewing choices and have on a few occasions got a bit annoyed with my other tv which doesnt have itpicture wise, the display is quite ‘hot’ colour and i have revisite the settings a couple of times to make improvements.
Absol brilliant value for money however doesn’t play hdi10 at 50 hz which is what’s needed for xbox.
I think it’s a really good telly. I pre-ordered it for £350 which was a bit steep because i was originally gonna spend £250 on a 1080p one, but was swayed by 4k to spend another £50 then by hdr to spend another. I don’t use the tv’s speakers so can’t really commenton them, but i use logitech z333 speakers instead via the headphone out jack. The picture quality is great. A little bit of backlight bleed but nothing major. Colours are vivid, much better than anything i’ve watched telly on, you’d be spending thousands to get the same quality two years ago. 0 on in the menu (not on by default) or you won’t get 4k. The smart interface isn’t something that i often use as i have it plugged into a bt box, but when i’ve used it it’s not too slow but also not lightning quick.
TCL 55DP608 55 Inch 4K UHD HDR 10 Smart TV with Freeview Play – Black (2018 Model) [Energy Class A+] : The delivery was quick and without problems, everything arrived in one piece. Adding the stand to the tv was straightforward, just a case of lining it up and screwing it in using the included screws. I’ve been using it for a few days now and i’ve had no problems with the picture quality or functionality of the tv itself, still getting to grips with some of the fine-tuning options to make it suit personal preference. The negative aspects i have experienced have been sound quality, it is fairly quiet and at times slightly tinny sounding, a problem i fixed with an external speaker. Overall the benefits far outway the negatives i have experienced, for the picture quality available the tv is great value for money.
Got this tv on an amazon deal for 280£ so thought it would be great value considering the brand has a good reputation in the us. Also the tv offers good features for this price tag. Unfortunately some aspects made it clear why it’s actually a cheap tv and bit a top brand one. Sadly the european versions are quite a bit different than the us models. Positives:good image quality despite the low price. Colours popped out and overall it looked the part on full hd and uhd quality (not tried a lot of hd or sd). Relatively good build quality and decent design. Felt decently solid but not perfect. Easy to set up and menus fairly easy to navigate. Gaming on xbox one s was ok with no lag or discernible ghosting.
One slight thing with this tv is the digital audio is coaxial and not fiber but purchased a converter for £10 and now works just fine.
Best tv i have bought great for gaming the colour and sharpness is unbeatable and the refresh rate is amazing best quality tv would buy 10 more.
Got for my ps4 pro and its amazing love how my games are looking now even just watching normal tv the colours are vibrant and the 4k vids on youtube look really good and for under 300 pounds its a really good tv.
This product is fine, but the tcl dp648 model has a couple of better features like better ppi, better peak brightness, a wide colour gamut and slimmer design.
I wasn’t expecting much from this. Probably i’m too much of an av snob. I like lg and samsung, and don’t usually steer away from those brands for tvs. Toshiba, another decent make has 43′ tvs at this price too. I thought this would be a typical ‘also ran’ brand. Box arrived and is quite small for a 43′. Though it was well packed with no marks. Very well protected with foam backed board and clear protective tape around the sides of the actual tv.
I think the picture is really good for its price, it looks good when i’m playing 4k on my xbox, the sound is alright, i dislike that there’s not many apps but i think it’s all good for its price but i’m really disappointed i found 2 pubes in the plastic bag with the manuals.
I’m so happy with this television excellent service excellent price thank you.
Haven’t got it up and going yet cos of wrong brackets .
I recently moved into my uni halls and needed a new tv for my room, this was a perfect fit from price to size and value for money. When looking at other brands, tcl was priced relatively low and in terms of performance does not let down. I’m used to using samsung/sony tv’s and found no difference moving across to this tv. Overall, i would highly recommend to any family or even students that are looking for a good tv at the lowest price.
Great tv for the price and nice picture quality, only to be ruined by white light bleeding the bottom right and top part of the screen. I’ve had 2 of these tvs and both have been the same. Do yourself a favour, get a big brand and save yourself the trouble.
No problems with the television so far, besides that it loads menu’s/everything rather slowly. On the other hand, you get great picture and a nice sized screen for very little money. Definitely recommended if you don’t mind it not being super fast.
What are the complaints for?for the price you pay this tv is simply amazing. If you are very fussy , don’t even bother to order it. You can go for lg,samsung and sony but totally different prices. I paid £235 for a 43′,great value for money.
I wanted a good hd picture-ialso use it for recording purposes with your panasonic use box.
Great price for a great product, really happy with it.
